Breakfast, lunch, dinner and restaurants
Breakfast at Tiffany’s – the 1961 film based on Truman Capote’s 1958 novella – has become more famous for its visual shorthands, its signifiers of New York chic and fashionable femininity, than its actual story or characters.
By Truman Capote It’s the belief that only good things happen there that makes Tiffany’s so appealing to her. So why choose this as the title? The title draws attention to Holly without having to name her specifically – she’s the only one in the book who loves the store so much.
Upon its release in 1961, the Oscar-winning film Breakfast at Tiffany’s quickly became a classic , praised particularly for its star (the glamorous, gamine Audrey Hepburn) and her chic, oft-imitated style—guided by the sharp eyes of Hubert de Givenchy and legendary costume designer Edith Head.
The movie “ Breakfast at Tiffany’s ” written by George Axelrod and directed by Blake Edwards came out in 1961. One of the biggest differences between the book and the movie is the ending : while in the movie Holly and the writer end up together, the book ends on a sadder note: the writer never sees her again.
NEW YORK — More than 50 years after the Oscar-winning film “ Breakfast at Tiffany’s ” starring Audrey Hepburn came out, you can now actually have breakfast at Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store in midtown Manhattan. Last November, the Blue Box Cafe opened on the fourth floor of the iconic Fifth Avenue jewelry store.
Breakfast costs $29 and starts with coffee or tea and a croissant or fruit. Then it’s your choice of avocado toast, a buttermilk waffle, truffle eggs or smoked salmon and a bagel.
Holly Golightly Is a Call Girl and Other Revelations About Breakfast at Tiffany’s .

The primary reason Tiffany is popular , though, is that their pioneering approach to jewelry and design has always appealed, and sometimes it has appealed enough that the entire industry is transformed. It was this philosophy of natural beauty, in fact, that led Tiffany to design their signature engagement ring setting.
He would be given a final resting place worthy of the movie star he was. Reportedly his ashes were buried with Frank Inn in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles. To this day Orangey is probably best remembered as Cat in Breakfast at Tiffany’s , despite having played many other roles.

The Breakfast at Tiffany’s cat (Orangey) is a consistent reminder to Holly and the audience of the lack of connection she feels to those around her. The cat symbolizes Holly’s realization that she’s horrified about never belonging anywhere or to anyone.
