Ingredients 2 ½ pounds ground pork. ¼ cup maple syrup. 1 ½ tablespoons chopped fresh sage. 1 tablespoon salt. 2 ½ teaspoons fennel seed. 2 ½ teaspoons red pepper flakes. 2 ½ teaspoons garlic powder. 2 ½ teaspoons onion powder.
Ingredients 1 lb. ground pork. 1 tablespoon brown sugar. 3/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper. 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme. 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary. 1/2 teaspoon dried sage. 1/8 teaspoon marjoram.
Breakfast sausage is ground and usually heavily seasoned with a blend of spices that includes some mixture of sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. The meat blend in link sausage is generally smoother, while patty sausage is less homogenous (though, to most taste buds, no less delicious).
Place patties in a cold skillet. Cook over MEDIUM heat for 14-16 minutes, turning sausage frequently for even browning, or until center of sausage patty reaches 160°F and is no longer pink. For food safety and quality purposes, this product must be cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 160°F prior to eating.
Cooking Directions Thaw product prior to cooking . Heat a nonstick skillet to medium-low. Add sausage links. Cook for 12-16 minutes or until sausage is browned and the internal temperature is 160F, turning often.

Pork sausage is ground pork that has been seasoned. You can substitute, but you’ll have to bring your own seasoning. Pork is the word ascribed to the pig animal as a food product. We don’t eat “pig” rather we eat ” pork .” Sausage is ground meat mixed with herbs and spices in some manner of form.

They serve two types of patties – what they call smoked sausage and their other is turkey sausage . I can’t find this smoked patty to buy anywhere. I have written to Cracker Barrel to encourage them to make to sell retail but they just say they will take it under advisement.
