When Hodgson – who is known as Mr Supertramp by fans and was renowned for his high-pitched singing voice – decided to leave the band in 1983 to concentrate on bringing up his young family, he claims a verbal deal was struck between him and Davies.
Supertramp were an English rock band formed in London in 1970. The band were initially a full-fledged prog-rock group, but starting with their third album Crime of the Century (1974), they began moving towards a more pop-oriented sound.

Not every band deserves to be in the Rock n ‘ Roll Hall of Fame , especially minor ones like Supertramp . So just because a band may be one of your personal faves, that’s not criteria enough for it to make it into the hall . Great band and Crime Of The Century is one of the best albums ever made.
1969–1988. Supertramp were formed under the name of Daddy by Roger Hodgson , Richard Palmer , Rick Davies and Keith Baker . Baker was soon replaced by Robert Millar , who performed on the group’s self-titled debut album.
Supertramp co-founder Roger Hodgson continues his extensive Breakfast in America 40th anniversary world tour in 2020 with performances scheduled in the U.S., South America, the U.K. and Europe.
