Five Steps to Host a Prayer Breakfast Choose a location, date and time. Location: We normally host in one of our homes, or a home of one of the women we have invited if they offer to host. Decide who to invite & send “invites”. Prayerfully choose your theme or focus for prayer . Plan your menu. Plan your table decor.
It is hosted by members of the United States Congress and is organized on their behalf by The Fellowship Foundation, a Christian organization. It is designed to be a forum for the political, social, and business elite to assemble and pray together.
Consider beginning with a 1-5 minute period of silence. Beginning with a short period of silence can help people connect to God through themselves. Encourage people to completely focus on God during this time. Alternatively you can sing two or three worship songs before prayer begins .
Loving heavenly Father, We come to you this hour asking for your blessing and help as we are gathered together. We pray for guidance in the matters at hand and ask that you would clearly show us how to conduct our work with a spirit of joy and enthusiasm. Give us the desire to find ways to excel in our work.
Biblical meals did not include breakfast , lunch, and dinner like we have. Regular meals in the Bible were eaten in the morning and in the evening, according to Exodus 16:12. There were only two regular meals in the Bible . Breakfast consisted of a light meal in the morning that included bread, fruits, and cheese.
Bless our Food Bless us, O God . Bless our food and our drink. Since you redeemed us so dearly and delivered us from evil, as you gave us a share in this food so may you give us a share in eternal life.
The opening prayer in a Christian devotion is usually called “the invocation”. precentor – a person who leads a congregation in its singing or prayers . cantor and chorister are other words you might wanna consider.
The tradition of the Catholic Church highlights four basic elements of Christian prayer: (1) Prayer of Adoration/Blessing, (2) Prayer of Contrition/Repentance, (3) Prayer of Thanksgiving /Gratitude, and (4) Prayer of Supplication/ Petition / Intercession .
Throughout the whole planning and leading process, don’t forget to pray. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you as you pick songs. Ask him to help memorize songs and know what to say or pray during worship . Ask him to help you band come together as a team.
As we close this meeting, we ask you , Lord, to walk with us everywhere we go. Help us to keep your word in our hearts that we may not sin against you . Through Jesus’ name, we pray , Amen. Almighty God, thank you for giving us good health and enabling us to come to this place and glorify your name.
With a new group , you may want to pray out loud yourself and have the rest of the group members pray with you silently. You can ask one or more of the group members, in private, if they would be willing to lead the prayer . You can also go into the group prayer time letting anyone pray out loud if they want.
Take a deep breath and say, “Thank you God for this time.” God, thank you for this time. Thank you for your word. Holy Spirit, thank you for leading me into truth. Jesus, thank you for dying for me. Father, teach me how you want me to apply Your word in my life. Thank you for this time God, I’m never going to say amen.
